Terms + Conditions
24 hour cancellation policy
If for any reason, you need to cancel or reschedule your lesson please let your primary teacher know at least 24 hours in advance. Contact us.
This policy allows us ample time to schedule other students who may be able to use your time.
We get that 24 hours is not always possible. In such event, with the exception of emergencies and inclement weather (see below), you forfeit the lesson. Your full payment is due and appreciated, and a make-up lesson will not be scheduled. When 24 hours notice is given, a make-up lesson will be scheduled.
Please make every attempt to reschedule voice lessons when necessary, rather than canceling altogether. This can be done online here.
You can also switch lesson times with another student. Please let us know of the change so that if WE need to cancel lessons for any reason we know who to contact.
If neither of these is possible, please contact us as soon as you are able and no later than 24 hours before your regular lesson time and we will find a solution together.
In Case of Inclement Weather
If your school district has closed, or has canceled after-school activities, you are not expected at your lesson. Flight follows the school districts' lead, and voice lessons are cancelled when school districts close. It is sometimes possible to have a lesson if you choose to brave the roads. In this case, please contact us directly to arrange your lesson. We will not expect you unless we hear from you.
Payment & Late Fees
For A La Carte Lessons, payment is due at the time of the lesson.
Tuition Payments are due the 1st calendar day of each month*. After the 7th day of the month, a late fee of $25 will be added to the total amount due. Even if you don’t have a lesson the first week of the month, your payment is still due and can be mailed to:
- Flight Voice Studio 14 Porter Hill Rd. Ithaca, NY 14850
- We accept Cash, Check, or Charge
*If you need your due date to be later in the month please ask. I will make every attempt to work with you to find a mutually agreeable solution.
Some things are unique to the Core Studio groups. They are listed here:
When listing conflicts for other activities (plays, concerts, sporting events etc.) you MUST include your weekly lesson time as well as recital dates (listed below) on all conflict sheets. You will be excused for 1 lesson in each tech week with advanced notice. Please do not plan to miss lessons because of a rehearsal schedule. Your attention to this detail is greatly appreciated and will allow us to move through the year smoothly. Thank you!
In order to honor the following policy, students or their guardians must notify me in writing when withdrawing. 30 days notification is required before terminating ongoing lessons. Failure to attend a lesson, rep class, or recital does not constitute official withdrawal.
What’s Included in the Monthly Fee
Weekly Voice Lessons: Students are expected to attend regular weekly voice lessons at their assigned time. If for some reason, you need to reschedule your lesson, please see the policy above.
Rep Class: 10 rep classes will be held about once a month on Saturday afternoons. Each student is expected to attend a minimum of 6 Rep Classes. Please note: Rep Classes may be cancelled if planned attendance is low.
Recitals*: Students have the opportunity to perform three times a year. For the informal House Concert, each student choses a piece to share with the members of the Studio and their immediate families. This recital is hosted in the home of a studio member. The Cabaret is a fundraiser for scholarship money in which students are in charge! It’s up to the group to plan a theme, menu, a venue, and program content to present to the studio families. The Spring Recital is a more formal affair to which the public is invited to attend. *Please Note: there may be an additional accompanist’s fee for recitals.
